QUESTION NO 18.what are the differences between modern education technology and traditional teaching technology
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODERN EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY AND
TRADITIONAL TEACHING TECHNOLOGY
TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY.
- Technology refers to the use of scientific knowledge for improving ways to things. One would use scientific knowledge to invite machines or devices to make things easier to do (smaldinos, F et al:2012)
- Education technology is the logical arrangement of education activities or task to improve human learning or teaching (William J 1987).
- Education technology is the application of scientific method and media activities to simplify human learning or teaching (Willium , 1991).
THE FOLLOWING ARE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODERN AND
TRADITIONAL TEACHING TECHNOLOGY.
•
In modern teaching technology use a class web which help the students to access the
notes from the teacher’s web. This web help to simplify work of the teacher
while in traditional the teacher use exercise books, books and blackboard to
simplify notes to the students ,this way lead to teachers work to be difficult
due to write notes in their exercise book and on the blackboard where the
learners get from.
•
Use of microphone wireless is very common in modern
technology teaching because it allow free movements of teachers in the
classroom while tradition teaching most
use natural voice during teaching and learning in the class due to the
limitation or un ability to apply modern instruments in teaching .so there is
low interaction in traditional teaching due to sound limited than modern
teaching technology (Monahan 2005)
•
In modern teaching technology is associated with the
use of computer usage in a classroom simply because having a computer in the
classroom is an asset to any teacher with a computer in the classroom a teacher
are able to demonstrate a new lesson, present new materials and the learners
can sea and share with their teacher.
•
where as in traditional teaching technology teachers
facilitate teaching or learning process by using notes in books ,pamphlets
quiet differently from computing technology (Smaldinos.E et al 2012).
•
Also in modern technology there is a use of interactive
white board .an interactive white board that provides touch of computer
application, these enhance the experience in the classroom by showing anything
that can be a computer screen .This is not only aid visual learning but it is
interactive so the students can draw white or manipulate image on the
interactive board differently from blackboard which is used in tradition
teaching technology (Hicks 2011).
•
Modern technology need teachers training improving programme , the preparation of technical and
professional workers have to be constantly improved so that is to facilitate
teachers to awareness teaching through modern technical instruments like
computer and projector while traditional teaching technology is obviously rigid
so there is no need of teaching training programmes (Dr.ms. sigh 2004;181)
•
Storage, in modern education teaching technology the
storage of materials is done through memory card, CD, DVD ,.
Memory card
Flash
•
While traditional teaching technology storage is done
through Books, Manilar sheet and exercise books.
Exercise book
Manilar sheet
•
While in traditional teaching technology based on the
use of ruler, pointer, manila card, and blackboard.
•
POINTER
CHALKS
RULER
•
Quality of materials in modern technology as most
purified due to the several update of materials lead to
the relevance of materials but traditional teaching
technology most of materials are irrelevance because of difficult to update
those teaching and learning materials .
•
Interaction ,the interaction between teachers and
students ,students to students and students to materials is very common in
modern teaching due to use of blogs and websites for discussing and comments
while traditional education there is low interaction due to minimal use of
technological instruments fore communication .
•
In tradition class, students are concentrated or
overclouded in the class.
While in modern technology, the number
of students are related with the size of the class.
In modern technology, screen is
used to display the materials in the classroom.
Example of the screen
In tradition technology, black boards are used
to display materials to the learners.
