Qn; Between print-media and non-print media which one would you use to teach with in a classroom and why?
Print media are written material which
are used to transmit information or knowledge in teaching and learning process.
For example; newspaper, textbooks, magazine ,pamphlets and journals.
Non print media are non written materials
which store and transmit information by using images and sound rather than
textual materials. For example; tapes,
photograph slide, film , computer, videotext, memory card, radio and flash
disc.
Examples of Non-print Media
Forms of non print media
- Audio media.
- Visual media.
- Audio visual media.
Through these non-print media especially radio, tapes, video tapes a teacher may record learning materials from different sources and use them in teaching and learning process in a classroom.
It enable learners to internalize and
memorize easily what they have learnt in the classroom. For example when
teaching the formation of block mountain you can use movable picture.
Example
It increases motivations and attention
to the learners in the process of teaching and learning in the classroom. For
example when you teach volcanic eruption

It promotes effective interaction between teacher and learner in the
classroom. For example learners can learn how solar eclipse occurs.
It
enables learners to internalize and
memorize the learnt material in the classroom
through hearing and seeing. For example by the use of movable picture

It enables a teacher to store various
materials for teaching and learning process. These can be done by using flash
disc, memory card, CD, DVD and hard disc.
Not
only that non-print media are very usefully in teaching and learning process
but also print media can be used by the teacher and the students depending on
the environment, nature of the learners, level and the number of the students.
Non print media can be used to help learner's disabilities like dump and deaf, through use of visual media such as videos and map dump can understand also visual materials can help deaf students to see and understand whats is going on during lesson. MWASENGA MIRIAM M TEKU/BAED/HK/11805.

ReplyDeleteNon printed material can not be used in area that have no electricity compared to printed material which can help the learners and teachers in learning process easily. so that the printed material are the one which are suitable on our environment for good leaning and teaching.MBAPA RASTEN K.
