An Introduction to
Technology Integration
Technology is
ubiquitous (everywhere), touching almost every part of our lives, our
communities, our homes. Yet most schools lag far behind when it comes to
integrating technology into classroom learning.
Integrating technology
into classroom instruction means more than teaching basic computer skills and
software programs in a separate computer class. Effective technology
integration is achieved when the use of technology supports curricular goals.
However, the
integration of technology in education is reflected through the use of
instruction medias in classroom that intellectually challenged. Through the use
of videos, tablets and E-Readers, radios, social networks like Blogs, online
articles, computer, other ways are through the use of website to find
examination results and other assignments results, using CD to collect soft
copy assignments.
Now lets discuss each
media in turn to show how they integrate with education.
VIDEO
Videos provide
extraordinary context and “reality” for learning. It is like the students are
right there.
Here are some of the best ways to use video in your
teaching.
Vocabulary building .
Videos provide extraordinary context and “reality” for learning vocabulary. It
is like the students are right there. Shows words in SUBTITLES style,
important words that base on type of language particularly religious language from a
video and have students order them as they watch.
BLOG
This is one of social
network that people use to share different issues and getting information.
Students and teachers share information concerning academic matters. For
example, the TEKUBAED TED 501.BLOGSPOT.COM where students comments on different
questions sent by their fellow students.
For example;

CDs
AND DVDs
CDs and DVDs become common
in educational environments. The students and teachers use CDs and DVDs as
storage media for important computer files, such as class assignments, projects

COMPUTER
Computers are of
different types like laptop, palmtop and desktop. Computers facilitate
problem-based learning. Accordingly, computers facilitate the storage, editing,
retrieval and presentation of data of different Studies.
For example;

PROJECTOR
Educational materials
can be highlighted in the simple projector. It is used in classroom to present
certain information concerning subject matters. Just having something projected
that the students may also be looking at on their screens allows teacher to
move around the room and still follow along with what he or she is working
through. It serves as a visual aid and can be used as a teaching tool to
enhance a lesson plan or objective.

the internet that maintains one or more web pages. It is a collection of World

site to give different academic information to their students. For example, the
web site for Teofilo Kisanji University is http://www.teku.ac.tz
For example;

Also students have
access to see their examination results in those web sites. For example Through
TAIS (TEKU Academic Information System), TEKU students can see their
