GROUP PRESENTATION QUESTION NO. 42 WITH RELEVANT EXAMPLES, DISCUSS INTERGRATION OF TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION.

An Introduction to Technology Integration

Technology is ubiquitous (everywhere), touching almost every part of our lives, our communities, our homes. Yet most schools lag far behind when it comes to integrating technology into classroom learning.

Integrating technology into classroom instruction means more than teaching basic computer skills and software programs in a separate computer class. Effective technology integration is achieved when the use of technology supports curricular goals.

However, the integration of technology in education is reflected through the use of instruction medias in classroom that intellectually challenged. Through the use of videos, tablets and E-Readers, radios, social networks like Blogs, online articles, computer, other ways are through the use of website to find examination results and other assignments results, using CD to collect soft copy assignments.

Now lets discuss each media in turn to show how they integrate with education.

VIDEO

Videos provide extraordinary context and “reality” for learning. It is like the students are right there.

            Here are some of the best ways to use video in your teaching.

Shows words in SUBTITLES style, important words that base on type of language particularly religious language from a video and have students order them as they watch.

PROJECTOR

Educational materials can be highlighted in the simple projector. It is used in classroom to present certain information concerning subject matters. Just having something projected that the students may also be looking at on their screens allows teacher to move around the room and still follow along with what he or she is working through. It serves as a visual aid and can be used as a teaching tool to enhance a lesson plan or objective.

For example.

It is a collection of World Wide Web (www) files that includes a beginning file called home page.  Most Educational institutions use Web site to give different academic information to their students. For example;

Figure 15:                              Web site

Also students have access to see their examination results in those web sites. For example Through TAIS (TEKU Academic Information System), TEKU students can see their examination results and get various announcements provided by University.
